Chapter 5: Volcanic Eruption💥

Manvi's POV

Infatuation aur attraction ye sab to moh maaya hai . Muje in sab mein nahi padna . Bilkul nahi padna. Mein sirf kaam karungi . Ye Kdrama thodi hai ki kuch hojaye, Kuch nahi hota asal zindagi mein (Infatuation and attraction-it's all just a temporary distraction. I refuse to get caught up in it. Absolutely not. I am here to work. This isn't some K-drama where fate constantly pulls people together; real life is far more mundane.)

I was drowning in these deep thoughts when I realized I was actually early for my shift. I decided to head to the gym ahead of time to get some proper training on how to prepare the various protein shakes and health drinks. My colleagues were incredibly kind; I even made a friend named Sindhu, who patiently walked me through the equipment and recipes.

As I began my shift, Sindhu left to attend to other areas of the gym. I started serving the members as their orders came in, and honestly, I loved it. Working is a transformative experience. Having a job gives you a sense of worth-a satisfaction that you are capable. Plus, with your own money comes the independence to make your own decisions. I was basking in that feeling of empowerment when a man walked up to the counter.

Correction: Not just any man. It was the same guy from class-the one I'd shared that intense, fleeting eye contact with earlier.

Oh my God, he's here. I tried to maintain a facade of professionalism, but I was failing miserably. My brain had officially ceased all functions. This is that classic trope where a girl's mind turns to mush the moment her crush is near. Wait-did I just call him my crush? No, no. He isn't a crush; he's just... exceptionally...

While these chaotic thoughts were swirling in my head, he tilted his head and waved a hand in front of my face. "Hello? Are you there?" he asked, looking amused. He then placed an order for an ABC (Apple, Beetroot, Carrot) juice.

Attempting to summon some composure, I began tossing the vegetables into the blender. I was so flustered that the moment I finished, I slammed my hand down on the 'high speed' button.

"Watch out!" he shouted.

But it was too late. In a split second, the blender erupted. Since I hadn't put the lid on, a volcanic explosion of red pulp sprayed across the room, hitting every corner of the kitchen.

The embarrassment was paralyzing. What must he think of me? I looked like a disaster-literally. To make matters worse, the juice had splattered across my face and dress, making me look like a literal beetroot. "Bhagwan, thodi toh daya karte! Crush ke saamne hi pura bheda garg kar liya maine." (God, have some mercy! I've completely made a mess of myself right in front of my crush.) And since he's my classmate, if he tells anyone, my reputation will be absolute toast.

In a desperate bid to save face, I blurted out the silliest thing imaginable: "You know, this was actually a scientific experiment! When you don't secure the lid, things spill over due to a combination of friction, acceleration, and centrifugal velocity."

He fought back a laugh, his lips twitching. "It's fine," he said gently. "Take a deep breath and just... cool down."

Cool down? After that? I finally dropped the act and sighed. "I'm so sorry for the mess. I was lost in thought, and then this misfortune happened. Honestly, I'm just really nervous. I'll clean the floor and the counter right now. Could you... please not complain to the management?" I looked at him imploringly; I couldn't afford to lose this job on day one.

He gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, I won't complain. Besides, the gym owner is a decent guy. Don't stress yourself out over a little juice."

Relief washed over me like a wave. Does that mean I can actually take a chill pill? I couldn't help it-I did a little victory hop like a happy kid.

Dhruv's POV

I watched her from the corner of my eye as she scrambled to clean up the crimson wreckage of the ABC juice. She was a whirlwind of accidental chaos, but there was something undeniably endearing about it.

I knew exactly why she had forgotten that lid. I could see the way her cheeks were flushed-a deep pink that had nothing to do with the beetroot juice on her face. She was blushing, her movements jerky and frantic because I was standing there. As an introvert, I'm used to observing people silently, and it was painfully obvious that she was completely flustered by my presence.

Most people try to act cool or sophisticated in this gym, but she was unapologetically herself. Even her "scientific explanation" for the mess was so absurdly charming that I had to bite my cheek to keep from laughing out loud. I didn't want to tease her and make her even more uncomfortable, so I kept my expression neutral, even though my heart was tugging at the corners of my mouth.

When I told her I wouldn't complain, she didn't just thank me; she literally jumped for joy. Seeing her hop around like a delighted child brought a warmth to my chest that I wasn't expecting. She was the "storm" to my "peace," and for the first time in a long time, I found myself looking forward to the next time things got a little messy.

Okay guys, I have to know ... if you were in that room, would you have burst out laughing or panicked over the mess? Drop your thoughts below!

Stay tuned, guys! Please leave a like. Every like matters.
