Kittu's POV

When Papa's name flashed on my screen, I braced myself for another talk about a "suitable match." But his voice was different this time-it was light, almost singing. When he told me that Dhruv had sent a proposal for Mannu and that she had said yes, I felt a physical weight lift off my chest.

"I'm so happy, Papa," I whispered, and I meant it with every fiber of my being.

I remembered the day I had broken Mannu down-the day I told her that perhaps for Dhruv, it wasn't that serious. I had said it to "protect" her, but I had only succeeded in bruising her spirit. To see her now, finally being claimed by the man she never stopped loving, felt like a personal redemption.

I looked at the city skyline from my office window. Mannu and Dhruv are polar opposites and yet they find solace in each other. Dhruv is an ocean of peace and mannu is the storm of ocean.Yet they chose each other. It wasn't just a match; it was a statement that when soul mates its match then there is no room for if's and but's

Anant's POV

The house was quiet when Dad told me about Dhruv's decision. I went to Dhruv's room later that evening. I expected to see a man making a logical choice, but what I saw was a man who looked like he had finally found his North Star.

"It was always her, Anant," Dhruv told me, his voice steady. "Ten years or a hundred, it wouldn't have mattered. I love her."

I went back to the hall, sipping my coffee and thinking about that kind of certainty. But the peace didn't last long. A few distant relatives had dropped by to see Maa, and the conversation quickly soured.

"A girl from that family? After what happened in school?" one aunt whispered, loud enough for me to hear from the sofa. "Dhruv is a doctor. You should have looked for a doctor bride, Swarna. This is a strange match."

Then, they turned their venom toward the sister. "And what about her elder sister? Krithika? We heard she's still unmarried at thirty. How can you wed the younger one first? It looks bad. People will talk."

They tried to pressure Maa, their voices rising with the practiced authority of people who live to judge. I felt my jaw tighten. I was about to stand up when Dad walked into the room.

"Enough," Dad said, his voice cutting through the gossip like a blade. "My son's happiness is my only priority. If Dhruv has chosen Manvi, then Manvi is the daughter of this house. We aren't living our lives for the sake of your 'talk.'"

Maa nodded, her face firm. "He's right. We aren't saying no to a decade of love just to satisfy a few relatives."

I watched them leave, but their words about Krithika stayed with me. An unmarried, successful woman... judged for the crime of being independent. It clicked then. The toughness, the "Senior Biotech Consultant" armor, the way she never surrenders to anyone-Kittu wasn't just being difficult. She was surviving. She had spent years being the target of this exact kind of poison. She was tough because the world gave her no other choice. And for the first time, I didn't see a rival across a boardroom table; I saw a woman who had fought a war just to stand on her own two feet.

Author's POV

The battle lines were being drawn, not between families, but between the old world and the new. In the Mishra household, a son had chosen love, and a father had chosen his son. But in the shadows, the judgment of society remained, a cold hail storm that Krithika had been weathering alone for a very long time.

What the relatives called a "strange match," the universe called destiny. And while they worried about "what people would say," Anant Mishra was beginning to realize that the woman he admired was far more than her title-she was a warrior who had never been given a shield. Until now.

The tension is shifting from the sisters to the world around them. How do you feel about Anant finally seeing the "why" behind Krithika's tough exterior?
