Author's POV
The glass walls of the Knowledge City office reflected a new kind of energy. Manav Mishra arrived unannounced, his eyes sharp but his smile warm as he walked through the corridors. He stopped at Krithika's desk first, offering a pleasant greeting.
"The progress here is remarkable, Krithika," Manav said, genuinely impressed by the efficiency she had brought to the project. They shared a brief, professional, yet warm conversation before he moved toward Anant's cabin.
Inside the cabin, the atmosphere shifted from corporate to familial. Manav sat across from his son, reviewing the latest projections. After the files were closed, Manav leaned back, his gaze softening.
"You've done well, Anant," he said, placing a steady hand on his son's arm. "Not just with the project, but with yourself. You look... settled."
Anant looked at his father, "I had a good teacher, Dad. And a very tough partner."
Anant's POV
The last few days had been a whirlwind of deadlines and technical glitches, but through the chaos, Kittu was my pillar. However, being her boss and her boyfriend in the same building was proving to be a dangerous challenge for my self-control.
I was in my cabin when Kittu walked in with a set of reports. The door was slightly ajar, but I didn't care. I pulled her into my arms, being unapologetically clingy, resting my head on her shoulder as I complained about a boring board meeting.
"Anant, let go! We're at work!" she hissed, though she was smiling.
"Just one minute," I murmured, tightening my grip.
"Ahem."
The sound of a throat clearing made us both freeze. We turned to see my dad standing in the doorway, an amused glint in his eyes. Kittu turned a shade of red. She practically teleported out of my arms, grabbed her files, and stammered, "G-good afternoon, Uncle! I... I have a meeting!"
She vanished down the hallway before I could even say her name. I stood there, looking at my father, trying to find my "CEO mask" on the floor.
"Dad! I... we were just discussing the... ergonomics of the office chairs," I blurted out. It was the most miserable cover-up in history.
Manav laughed, shaking his head. "Ergonomics? Anant, please. Just tell me the truth next time. She is a good girl, son. Take care of her. Don't let your 'ergonomics' scare her away."
Author's POV
Manav returned to the Mishra mansion that evening with a heart full of good news. When he revealed the truth about Anant and Krithika to Swarna, she let out a cry of pure joy. She didn't waste a second before calling the Sharmas.
Neeraj and Kumud had spent years worrying about their elder daughter's solitude. Hearing that she had found her match in Anant was a relief that brought tears to their eyes. Kumud called Krithika immediately, her voice trembling. "Kittu... come home. We need to talk."
Kittu's POV
The living room was full. It was a sea of familiar faces-Mamma, Papa, Swarna Aunty, and Manav Uncle. I walked in with Anant, our hands briefly brushing as if to anchor one another.
Mamma started the talk about marriage almost immediately. I felt the old panic rising-the fear of being pressured because of my age or "the clock." But before I could retreat into my shell, Anant stood up. He looked at the elders with a firm, unshakable gaze.
"Before we make any plans," Anant stated, his voice a shield around me, "I want everyone to know that Kittu's decision is the final one. No more debates, no more pressure. This happens on her terms."
I looked at him, and the last of my guards finally crumbled. Mamma looked disappointed, likely thinking I'd say no again. But I took a deep breath and looked at Anant.
"I say yes," I said, my voice steady. "Not because I'm 'late' or because of the pressure. I say yes because I have found my man, my peace, and my solace. For the first time, I have someone who values my opinions as much as my presence. His actions have been shouting his love for me even when I was too deaf to hear it. Anant is the silent pillar I didn't know I was allowed to have. I am content, and I am ready."
Author's POV
The destination wedding was a golden dream. Nestled away from the noise of the city, the two families came together to witness the final union of the Sharma and Mishra names.
Every ritual-from the Haldi to the Sangeet-wasn't just a tradition; it was a celebration of two warriors finally finding their safe space. As they took the pheras, the fire in the center was reflected in their eyes-no longer a fire of competition, but a fire of devotion.
When Anant tied the mangalsutra and filled her parting with sindoor, Krithika's eyes overflowed with happy tears. She wasn't losing her identity; she was gaining a sanctuary. Anant leaned in, ignoring the cheers of the crowd, and pressed a lingering, tender kiss on her forehead.
As the sun set over the wedding canopy, the Sharma sisters stood together with the Mishra brothers. The "Calm" and his "Wave," the "Titan" and his "Pillar"-a happy family, finally whole, proving that love, like a hail storm, might be chaotic, but it leaves the world much fresher and brighter once it passes.
