21st CENTURY
Diya arrived back home and had already made up her mind to get the key. Yash saw Diya and asked her, "Beta, where did you go? We had been waiting for you."
Diya replied, "Papa, I just went out to eat panipuri with Roohi."
When Radha heard Diya's response, she immediately became angry.
"I am fed up with this girl. How many times have I told you not to eat outside food? In the long run, it will impact your health."
Diya responded playfully, "Ohho, Doctor Mamma! Once in a while it's fine. And see, I am still doing good even after eating your roadside panipuri."
Radha shook her head and went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
While Diya and Yash were chatting, Diya casually asked, "Papa, I want to see my childhood things. Where are they?"
Hearing this question made both Yash and Radha serious. Yash replied, "Diya dear, they are all old things. What will you do with them now?"
But Diya kept insisting. Seeing her persistence, Yash finally said, "They are in the store room Let me get the key."
Once Yash went to get the key, Diya quietly followed him on tiptoe so that he wouldn't notice her. Yash took the key from his bedroom, but his eyes fell on another key in the cupboard.
Diya secretly observed everything from behind the curtain.
After Yash closed the cupboard, Diya slowly tiptoed back to the hall and sat silently on the sofa.
Yash returned with the room keys. Both of them went to the storeroom, and Yash opened a suitcase. Inside it was a cute lehenga meant for a five-year-old child.
Looking at it, Diya laughed and asked, "Such a funny costume! Is this for my fancy dress competition at school?"
Looking at the lehenga, Yash panicked and replied quickly, "Yes, yes. It was for your fancy dress competition. Radha bought it for you when you played the role of a princess."
During dinner, Radha received a call from the hospital saying there was an issue.
Noticing Radha's serious expression, Diya asked, "What happened, Mamma? Is there any problem?"
Radha replied, "A couple came to the hospital today to abort their baby. When I asked them why, the husband said they don't want a girl child."
Diya immediately got angry.
"Oh God! Even in the 21st century there are such people. Don't they know it is illegal to reveal the gender of a baby through scanning?"
Radha replied, "They bribed the staff to reveal the gender. They even tried bribing me, but I scolded them and warned them not to repeat it again. The husband is even a school teacher, but still I had to school him"
But Diya knew that if they were adamant, they might go to another doctor.
So Diya decided to take matters into her own hands.
"Mamma, what is the teacher's name and where does he work?" she asked.
Radha gave her the details, but deep down she knew Diya would not remain silent because she knew her daughter very well.
Radha didn't stop her either because she knew Diya would always stand up for women's rights whenever she saw even a hint of gender discrimination.
The next day, Diya went to the school and met the teacher.
"Hello sir, I am Diya, daughter of Dr. Radha. I have registered a case under the suspected category of female foeticide with the Child Helpline. All medical actions regarding your wife and baby will now be monitored."
Hearing this, the teacher panicked.
"Sorry, ma'am. This will not happen again," he said, knowing that if he violated the law he would be penalized.
After that, Diya left the school and went to Roohi's flat.
She explained to Roohi where Yash usually kept the keys.
Roohi said, "So the first step is to get the key."
Diya replied confidently, "I already have a plan. I will get the key tonight."
After talking with Roohi, Diya returned home and convinced her parents to go out for a movie or dinner so they could spend some quality time together.
Yash and Radha agreed and went out for a date.
As soon as they left, Diya quickly went to their bedroom and checked the cupboard. She found many keys there, and she tried opening the cupboard lock with keys
After a few permutations she opened the cupboard. In the cupboard, she found a file containing a thesis and experimental notes related to a time machine. At the end of the file, she found another key.
She immediately took both the file and the key and rushed to Roohi.
Diya explained everything to Roohi and said excitedly,
"Roohi bro, These are the notes related to Time Machine. Somehow or the other, that machine will give us all the answers."
Roohi replied nervously, "But Diya, you know it's a time machine. It's risky. If something goes wrong, we could die."
Seeing Roohi's fear, Diya replied, "No bro, you are not coming with me. I will go alone and check it."
Roohi refused immediately.
"No way. I am not leaving you alone in this.. I am always with you."
Diya tried convincing her.
"Ohho Roohi, The time machine might not be even working. The thesis clearly says it was a failed experiment. I am just going there to find some clues about papa's past."
Roohi finally said, "Okay... but be careful, dear."
However, Roohi had already decided she would secretly follow Diya.
Roohi was an orphan, and since childhood Diya had always stood up for her. She would fight anyone who tried to hurt Roohi. Diya's parents had always treated Roohi with love and supported her education.
Roohi could never leave her soul sister alone.
When Diya left for the Time Agency, Roohi followed her silently.
By the time they reached there, it was already midnight and the building was closed.
Diya climbed the wall, and Roohi climbed behind her.
Diya prayed to God and tried opening the prohibited room. Luckily, the door opened with the key she found with thesis.
Inside the room there were a few computers and a huge machine. A clock was attached to the machine. Seeing the clock she understood that finally she had found the time machine
Diya opened the thesis file and began reading the steps for operating the time machine.
While she was studying the file, Roohi quietly sneaked inside and hid behind the machine.
Since childhood, Diya had followed her father's scientific path. Luckily, she understood the concepts well. Now that she had the thesis, she began executing the steps one by one.
However, one page in the file was missing.
Without realizing its importance, she skipped it and continued with the next steps.
Little did she know that it was the most important step.
That missing page contained the step for choosing the time destination. Since she skipped it, the machine would use the last time setting that had been used previously.
After hours of effort, the door of the time machine finally opened.
Out of curiosity, Diya immediately stepped inside.
Roohi quickly followed her inside the machine and shouted nervously,
"Bro, what are you doing? I have a really bad feeling about this. Let's leave."
Diya turned around and saw Roohi.
"Roohi! I told you not to come, but you are still here."
Not wanting to risk Roohi's life, Diya said quickly,
"Okay, let's go."
But before they could step out, the door suddenly closed.
Both of them were trapped inside.
The machine began rotating rapidly. The speed and pressure were so intense that Diya and Roohi didn't even have time to process what was happening.
Yes, your guess is right.
Diya and Roohi are now on their way from the 21st century to the 12th century.
