12th CENTURY – VIJAYGARH
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Veer went to inform Leelavathi about his marriage. Hearing that he would marry the princess of Rajpur she was shocked. She never thought her grandson would marry enemy kingdom Rajkumari as part of an alliance. But she accepted his grandson's decision as this is required for his throne. The baarat has started for Rajpur for the wedding.
12th CENTURY – RAJPUR
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roohi was shocked to hear about Diya's wedding and went to confront her. Diya stated that this needs to be done and I am obliged to do this and we will leave for Vijaygarh together.
Roohi was confused with Diya's actions but she cannot do anything as Diya is adamant on this..
Baarat came to Rajpur and Diya didn't even bother to see the groom's face. Diya was wed to Veer with a marriage ceremony. The same day during the wedding night Veer told Diya that It's just a marriage alliance and we are husband and wife only to the outside world.. Hearing this from Veer actually made Diya peaceful and she took a sigh of relief.
The next day after rituals were completed both Veer and Diya along with Baarat and Roohi left for Vijaypur. On the other hand Rani Damayanti was in agony that she just got her daughter a few days back and again she got separated from her.
12th CENTURY – VIJAYGARH
After the Griha Pravesh ceremony, Diya officially stepped into the palace of Vijaygarh as its Maharani.
The palace servants bowed respectfully.
"Maharani Diya Gauri ki Jai Ho!"
Diya smiled politely, but inside her mind she was screaming.
Great. Just great.
A few days ago I was in the 21st century drinking cold coffee... and now I'm suddenly the queen of a medieval kingdom.
Roohi walked beside her, whispering quietly.
"Congratulations, Your Highness."
Diya rolled her eyes.
"Don't start."
Roohi tried hard not to laugh.
Then Roohi started teasing her, See the irony, your name is diya gupta and the rajkumari name is also diya gauri. Anyhow, I shouldn't have encouraged you in the first place for the time machine otherwise nothing of this would have happened.
Diya acknowledged Roohi by giving her a sigh.
Rajmata Leelavathi approached them with a calm yet commanding presence.
She observed Diya carefully from head to toe.
"So this is the Rajkumari of Rajpur," she said slowly.
Diya immediately folded her hands respectfully.
"Pranam Rajmata."
Leelavathi nodded.
"You will learn the customs of Vijaygarh soon. A queen carries not only jewels... but also responsibility."
Diya forced a polite smile.
Responsibility? I'm just trying to survive here.
Later that night...
Diya was shown to her chamber.
The room was massive, filled with golden lamps, silk curtains, and carved furniture.
Roohi looked around in amazement.
"Diya... this room is bigger than my entire apartment."
Diya sighed and collapsed on the bed dramatically.
"Great. I'm trapped in a royal museum."
Roohi burst out laughing.
Just then—
The door opened.
Veer walked inside.
Roohi immediately stood up nervously.
"Maharaj..."
Veer looked at her calmly.
"You may leave. I need to speak with Maharani."
Roohi looked at Diya with a worried expression.
Diya mouthed silently:
Relax.
Roohi finally left the room.
Now only Veer and Diya were in the chamber.
For a few seconds, there was silence.
Veer crossed his arms.
"So... Rajkumari."
Diya immediately corrected him.
"Maharani."
Veer raised an eyebrow.
"Confident already?"
Diya shrugged.
"Well... you married me. Not my fault."
Veer couldn't stop a small smile from appearing by looking at her courage.
Because it was new for him as well.
Then his expression turned serious.
"As I told you earlier, this marriage is only an alliance. Outside the palace, we are husband and wife. But inside... you are free."
Diya nodded.
"You already told me once. It's not a historical drama where you repeat the same dialogues. Also That's actually the best news I've heard since landing in this century."
Veer frowned slightly.
"Drama...!!! And Landing...!!!?"
Diya quickly corrected herself.
"Uh... I mean... landing means arriving."
Veer narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"You speak strangely."
Diya smirked.
"You stare strangely."
For a moment Veer was speechless.
No one had ever spoken to him like this.
Finally he said slowly,
"You are not afraid of me."
Diya leaned back casually.
"Should I be?"
Veer stepped closer.
His voice became low.
"I am the man who conquered kingdoms."
Diya looked directly into his eyes.
"And I'm the girl who tricked you into turning around so I could run away."
Veer let out a quiet laugh.
"You are impossible."
Diya grinned.
"Thank you."
Suddenly Veer noticed something.
"You are smiling a lot for someone forced into marriage."
Diya's smile faded slightly.
For a brief moment, the pain in her eyes was visible.
"I had no choice other than putting on this play."
Something inside Veer softened slightly.
But he quickly hid it.
Then Diya suddenly asked,
"Can I ask something?"
Veer nodded.
"Why did you choose me for this alliance?"
Veer replied calmly,
"Because Rajpur wants to avoid war... and I needed control."
Diya crossed her arms.
"So basically... political marriage."
"Yes."
Diya sighed.
"Wow classic romance trope."
Veer looked confused.
"Romance?"
Diya waved her hand.
"Forget it. Historical era problem."
Just then a servant entered nervously.
"Maharaj... dinner is served."
Veer nodded.
"Come."
Diya stood up reluctantly.
As they walked together toward the dining hall, Diya whispered quietly,
See how cool I am for a Ranisa
Veer smirked.
"Perhaps. But you barely survived one day in my kingdom."
Diya gasped dramatically.
"Excuse me! I survived kidnapping, forced marriage, royal drama, and time travel!"
Veer looked confused again.
"Time... what?"
Diya immediately changed the topic.
"Nothing. Forget it."
Veer shook his head.
"Talking to you is like solving a riddle."
Diya smiled mischievously.
"Good. Life will not be boring for you then, Maharaj."
Veer looked at her for a moment.
For the first time in years...
He felt something unfamiliar.
Amusement.
Curiosity.
And something far more dangerous.
Far away, Dev watched them walking together.
He smiled slightly.
"Something tells me," he murmured,
"this alliance will be far more interesting than war."
