Chapter 18: Metal Beasts and Moving Boxes

21st CENTURY

The bright white lights of the laboratory slowly dimmed as the time machine powered down.

Veer and Dev looked at everything, disoriented.

Everything around them felt... wrong.

Or rather, too strange to understand.

Dev was the first to sit up.

He looked around at the glowing screens, wires, machines, and glass walls.

"What sorcery is this place?"

Veer stood up slowly.

Even the floor beneath his feet felt unfamiliar.

Diya smiled softly.

"Welcome... to my world."

Dev frowned.

"This is the future?"

Roohi nodded proudly.

"The 21st century."

Dev looked at the ceiling lights glowing brightly.

"No fire."

"No torches."

"How is the room full of light?"

Roohi laughed.

"That's electricity."

Dev whispered suspiciously,

"Magic."

Yash chuckled.

"Science."

OUTSIDE THE BUILDING

A few minutes later they stepped outside.

The city was alive with traffic, lights, and towering buildings.

Cars rushed past them on the road.

Dev jumped back immediately.

"WHAT IS THAT METAL BEAST?!"

Roohi burst out laughing.

"That's a car."

Dev stared in disbelief.

"It moves without horses."

Diya grinned.

"Welcome to technology."

Meanwhile Veer stood silently, observing everything carefully.

The towering skyscrapers.

The endless lights.

The roads filled with vehicles.

His mind was racing.

"This world... is far more powerful than ours."

Diya nodded.

"Yes."

"And far more complicated."

INSIDE THE BUILDING – ELEVATOR

Roohi dragged Dev toward the elevator.

"Come on."

Dev frowned.

"What is this box?"

"It will take us upstairs."

Dev crossed his arms.

"I prefer stairs."

Roohi pushed him inside anyway.

The doors closed.

The elevator suddenly started moving upward.

Dev grabbed the wall instantly.

"The floor is moving!"

Roohi laughed uncontrollably.

"It's called an elevator!"

Dev glared.

"This world has too many moving boxes."

Even Veer struggled to hide his amusement.

LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Later that evening everyone gathered in the living room.

Roohi handed Dev a phone.

Dev looked at it suspiciously.

"What weapon is this?"

"It's a phone."

Roohi turned on the screen.

Dev nearly dropped it.

"There is a person inside!"

"That's a video."

Dev shook his head.

"This world traps people inside tiny mirrors."

Roohi then turned on the WiFi router.

Dev looked confused.

"What is that device?"

Roohi smirked.

"It spreads invisible signals."

Dev frowned.

"Invisible?"

"Yes."

"People use it to talk across the world."

Dev leaned closer.

"So... invisible messengers?"

Roohi nodded.

"Yes."

Dev whispered dramatically,

"This is definitely magic."

Everyone burst out laughing.

BALCONY – LATE NIGHT

Meanwhile Diya stood quietly on the balcony looking at the city lights.

Roohi joined her.

"Thinking about Vijaygarh?"

Diya nodded.

"They're still fighting."

Roohi sighed.

"I know."

They both stood silently for a moment.

Then Roohi smiled softly.

"You love him."

Diya looked at her.

"Who?"

Roohi smirked.

"Veer."

Diya sighed.

"I didn't plan to."

Roohi laughed.

"Love never asks for permission."

Diya looked thoughtful.

"And you?"

Roohi rolled her eyes.

"Dev is impossible."

"But..."

Diya raised an eyebrow.

"But?"

Roohi smiled softly.

"I think I'm falling for him too."

Both girls laughed quietly.

TERRACE – SAME TIME

Meanwhile Veer and Dev stood on the terrace looking at the modern city.

Dev shook his head.

"I still cannot believe this world."

Veer spoke calmly.

"The future is powerful."

"But power without wisdom can be dangerous."

Dev nodded.

"Maharaj... Vijaygarh is still in danger."

Veer's eyes hardened.

"Yes."

"Rudra Sen believes we are dead."

Dev smiled slightly.

"Then we have an advantage."

Just then Diya and Roohi joined them.

Diya spoke firmly.

"The time machine can take us back."

Dev looked relieved.

"When?"

Yash answered from behind them.

"Tomorrow."

Everyone turned toward him.

Yash continued,

"The machine needs time to recharge."

"But once it's ready... you can return."

Veer looked at Diya.

"You are willing to go back... even after escaping?"

Diya smiled confidently.

"I promised you something."

Veer asked quietly,

"What?"

Diya replied firmly,

"That I would return."

"And I keep my promises."

Veer's eyes softened.

For the first time since arriving in this strange world...

He felt hope.

Because soon...

They would return to Vijaygarh.

And Rudra Sen's war would finally end.
