The magic of a journey isn't found in the places we visit, but in the people we share the road with.

Shivansh stood a short distance away, leaning casually against a wooden pillar, completely captivated by the sight in front of him.

He was admiring Isha.

She was completely caught up in a playful paint-smearing match with Riya and Purvi, laughing with total abandon. Her hair flew wildly as she dodged a handful of bright yellow powder, her face lighting up with a radiant, pure joy that she so rarely allowed herself to show.

Watching her lose herself in the moment, a soft, uncharacteristic warmth spread across Shivansh's chest.

He murmured to himself under his breath, a quiet confession meant only for the mountain wind:

"Just looking at you makes everything better, Isha."

As if sensing his gaze, Isha suddenly paused, her sparkling eyes locking onto his. A bright, mischievous grin broke across her face. Dusting the colorful powder from her hands, she ran straight toward him.

"Shivansh, join karo!"(shivanah join us) she laughed, immediately grabbing a handful of loose blue paint from a nearby tray and throwing it directly at his jacket.

Shivansh blinked, shielding his face with his arm.

"Hold on, Isha!" he chuckled, stepping back.

"No! Not a chance!" she cheered like a happy child, dipping her fingers back into the color and lunging forward to splash his arms.

Shivansh didn't even try to escape. He just stood there, letting her cover him in bright streaks of paint, a genuine, heartfelt smile breaking across his usually serious face.

It had been so long-so incredibly long-since he had seen her this happy, completely unburdened by the weight of her sensitive, guarded soul.

Before she could target his face, Riya sneaked up from behind and dumped a whole cup of green powder right over Isha's head.

Isha gasped, shaking her hair out as Riya ran away laughing. "Ruk! Abhi tujhe batati hoon!" Isha shouted playfully, immediately turning on her heel to chase after Riya. (Wait! I'll show you now!)

As Shivansh watched her run away, her laughter echoing through the air, the smile slowly faded from his lips, replaced by a deep, fierce intensity.

The raw, protective instinct inside him stirred, and his heart poured out a silent vow:

I wish I could take away all the pain and suffering you endured and lock it away where it can never reach you again.
I would burn my own world down just to keep you safe.
I crave this childish, goofy, and deep soul of yours.

My only prayer is that every tear that falls from your eyes becomes a witness to the smiles and joy you deserve.
I want to take all your pain upon myself, so that only light remains in your eyes-just the way it is now.

After a long, exhausting hour of playing, The gang finally called it a day and headed to their respective rooms to freshen up and change out of their stained clothes.

Later as they gathered in the lounge for a late hot coffee, Akshat clapped his hands together to get everyone's attention.

"Listen up, guys. Abhi party khatam nahi hui hai. (The party isn't over yet.) Tomorrow night is the official college prom, so everyone better be ready and dressed to the nines."

He looked over at Purvi, giving her a soft, meaningful wink. She smiled back warmly and nodded.

Purvi then looked around at the tired but smiling faces of her friends.

"Thank you so much, everyone. Seriously. You all made this birthday so incredibly memorable for me."

With happy groans and warm hugs, they all finally retired to their rooms for a long, well-deserved sleep.

The next day, the entire gang took full advantage of the free schedule, sleeping in until late into the afternoon to recover from the previous day's exhaustion.

By the time the evening rolled around, the resort's grand banquet hall had been transformed into a beautiful, dimly lit prom venue, alive with fairy lights, elegant drapes, and upbeat music.

When the girls walked in, they completely stole the show. Riya, being her naturally vibrant and energetic self, didn't wait for a formal invitation. The moment a catchy rhythm filled the room, she grabbed Purvi and Isha by their hands, pulling them straight into the center of the dance floor.

"Come on, let's dance!" Riya cheered.
The three of them started rocking the floor, their laughter blending seamlessly with the music.

From the edge of the floor, Akshat and Shivansh stood side-by-side, completely mesmerized, admiring Purvi and Isha as they moved with effortless grace and joy.

Meanwhile, Yash hit the dance floor from the opposite side. After all, how could he ever stay away from a celebration? He danced his way, pulling off hilarious, over-the-top moves that made Riya shake her head in fond exasperation.

Seeing the boys standing on the sidelines, Purvi broke away from the circle, running over to grab Akshat's hand and pulling him into the crowd.

Not wanting to be left out, Yash lunged toward Shivansh, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him forcefully onto the floor.

The DJ transitioned smoothly into the high-energy beats of Saturday Night. Giving up all their inhibitions, the five of them danced together in a tight circle, jumping, laughing, and matching steps as the neon lights flashed around them.

For those few minutes, the stress of college, exams, and the outside world ceased to exist.

After the dance session, they moved to a quiet, dimly lit round table in the corner of the banquet hall for a lavish buffet dinner.

The heavy plates of hot food were a welcome relief against the cold Manali night.

Yash piled an impossibly high stack of noodles onto his plate, taking a massive bite before looking across the table.

"I swear, if we could just extend this trip by another week, I would happily fail my next internal exams."

"Oh, please," Riya scoffed, though she was smiling as she handed him a napkin.

"As the CR, I would personally drag you back by your collar. Someone has to make sure you actually graduate, Yash."

"See? She secretly cares about your future," purvi teased, nudging riya elbow.

"Did you hear that, Shivansh?"

Shivansh quietly sipped his water, a small smile playing on his lips as his eyes briefly darted to Isha, who was neatly cutting her dessert.

"I heard a threat, Yash. You should probably start studying." Shivansh said

Isha chuckled softly, looking up at the group.

"Honestly though, I don't think I've laughed this much anytime nearby.

This trip is much needed for me and now I would have regretted it if I hadn't joined you guys.

Purvi reached over, gently squeezing Isha's hand from across the table.

"It really does. Looking at all of us here, it feels like no matter how chaotic things get outside, this table is always going to stay safe."

Akshat leaned back, looking at each of his friends with a profound sense of pride. He raised his glass of juice, tilting it toward the center of the table.

"To the best gang. No matter what comes next, we face it together."

"To us!" they all echoed in unison, clinking their glasses together. The candid chatter, the soft teasing, and the warmth of their laughter stretched long into the night, filling the space with memories that the mountain cold could never fade.

Finally, as the lights in the banquet hall began to dim and the music softened to a gentle hum, they stood up from the table, gathered their coats, and quietly left the hall together, walking back under the starlit Manali sky.
