The most profound realisations happen quietly, often at the exact moment we stop fighting our own feelings.

Manali tour brought the gang to a popular highland amusement park, where the main attraction was a massive, open-air wave pool.

The rhythmic crash of the artificial waves echoed through the air, drawing a massive crowd.

Akshat, Purvi, Yash, and Riya rushed forward eagerly, holding each other's hands in a tight chain, completely ready to face the oncoming water. But Isha stayed back.

Terrified of the rushing water, she stood frozen near the concrete steps, her arms crossed tightly over her chest.

Riya jogged back to grab her arm, pulling gently.

"Come on, Isha! Aaja standard waves hain, kuch nahi hoga!"
(Come on, they are standard waves, nothing will happen!)

Isha stubbornly shook her head, planting her feet.

"No, Riya. You go ahead. I'm fine right here."

Riya sighed playfully, throwing her hands up.

"Phir sado yahin par!" she teased, rushing back into the pool to join Yash and Akshat.
(Then rot right here!)

Standing waist-deep in the water, Shivansh noticed Isha's empty spot in the chain. He waded through the crowd back to the edge and looked up at Riya.

"Where is Isha?"

"She's scared, she isn't even moving an inch from the stairs," Riya shouted back over the noise of the water.

Shivansh walked completely out of the pool, his wet hair dripping as he stepped up to where Isha was standing. He gave her a gentle, reassuring look.

"Kuch nahi hota, Isha. Aao, sabhi log hain na, maza aayega."
(Nothing happens, Isha. Come, everyone is here, it'll be fun.)

Isha looked at the crashing waves, her voice trembling slightly.

"No, Shivansh... the water speed is quite high. What if I lose my footing and drown? Na baba na." (No way, no.)

Shivansh stepped closer, directly cutting off her view of the chaotic pool. His dark eyes locked onto hers with absolute sincerity.

"You won't drown. Main tujhe doobne hi nahi doonga. (I won't let you drown at all.)

Just hold my hand. I am there as your support, and I will never let you go. You are safe with me. Trust me."

He extended his palm between them, waiting patiently.

Isha stared at his open hand for a heartbeat. The quiet intensity in his voice acted like an anchor against her rising panic. Slowly, she placed her hand in his. Shivansh's fingers closed around hers-strong, protective, yet incredibly gentle.

Holding her hand securely, he guided her step-by-step into the water. As the horn blew and the beautiful, massive waves rolled in, the entire gang started yelling and cheering in pure excitement.

Suddenly, a particularly hard wave hit Riya right from the side. She lost her balance on the slick floor and began to slip backward. Before she could fall, Yash lunged sideways, his arm catching her securely around the waist.

"Whoa! CR sahiba, dhyan se, gir na jaye..." Yash laughed, pulling her back up to her feet.
(CR ma'am, careful, lest you fall...)

Riya's hands had instinctively gripped his shoulders, her fingers clenching the fabric of his shirt.

"I am... I am not falling," she stammered, her breath hitching as she looked up at him.

Yash smirked, looking down at his clothes.

"Achha, but at least leave my shirt now."

Blushing furiously, Riya instantly pulled her hands back. As the water swirled around them, Riya felt a deep, stirring sensation inside her chest-a sudden, clear inner voice that she desperately wanted to ignore, but couldn't anymore.

Over the next two days, the group made sure to squeeze every bit of magic out of Manali. They explored the ancient, wooden architecture of the Hadimba Temple tucked away in the cedar forests, walked through the vibrant, bustling lanes of Mall Road for local souvenirs, and took in the panoramic mountain views from Jogini Falls.

Finally, the time came to say a bittersweet goodbye to the snow-capped peaks of Manali. With heavy hearts and cameras packed with thousands of photos, they boarded their return flight back to the familiar, bustling city of Pune.

The transition back to reality was sharp. Almost immediately upon their return, the third-year final semester examinations were officially announced. The care-free laughter of the vacation was quickly replaced by stacks of textbooks, late-night library sessions, and endless cups of coffee.

Everyone got incredibly busy with their intense preparation.

Once the high-pressure exams finally concluded, the college announced the official summer holidays. It was during the first week of this break that an unexpected incident occurred.

Yash happened to be near the main city junction when a sudden, chaotic traffic accident took place.

Moving entirely on instinct, Yash rushed into the middle of the road, single-handedly pulling a severely injured pedestrian out of harm's way and immediately coordinating with bystanders to rush the victim to the nearby city hospital.

Coincidentally, Riya arrived at the exact same hospital an hour later. She was accompanying her father, Raghav, for his routine quarterly health checkup. As they walked through the casualty wing toward the consultant's office, Riya stopped in her tracks.

Through the glass partition, she saw Yash. His shirt was slightly rumpled, and he was politely talking to the hospital staff, ensuring the accident victim was being looked after properly.

Rghav stood there, completely impressed and deeply moved by his selflessness.

"That boy has a golden heart, Riya, I have seen him from childhood through the divorce proceedings of his parents.
He was way too mature for his age even then and now also. " Raghav said softly, patting her shoulder.

He stepped forward to praise Yash directly, speaking highly of his quick thinking and bravery in front of Riya.
Listening to her father praise him, Riya felt a strange, tightening ache in her chest. Looking at Yash who was now talking with her father-she realized that sometimes, ordinary words were completely empty and insufficient to describe how deeply you feel about someone.

Without her even realizing it, a single, silent tear slipped from the corner of her eye, tracking down her cheek.

A few minutes later, Yash came walking back down the corridor, laughing heartily alongside Raghav. The two men were chatting as if they were father and son.

Raghav turned to Yash, his tone full of affection.

"You must bring Sunanda ji over to our house sometime soon, Yash. It's been a while. Consider me a well-wisher, and please stay in touch."

Yash smiled warmly, bowing his head slightly with utmost respect.

"Absolutely, uncle. I definitely will. Thank you so much."

He spoke so cordially, so politely.Riya could only stand there, completely transfixed. She stared at him, entirely overwhelmed by the sheer, terrifying weight of the emotions she was experiencing. In the quiet theater of her mind, her thoughts began to flow:

Yash would never know that my eyes search for him among crowds of people.
My heart gets too shy the moment our eyes meet, forcing me to look away before he ever notices.

Just then, Raghav chuckled at a joke, pointing a finger back toward Riya as he said something to Yash. Yash's gaze naturally shifted, his warm eyes locking onto Riya's face.

Riya's heart skipped a beat, but she didn't look away this time.
I know he saw me too. Not in the deep, consuming way that I look at him... but he did look.

He will probably never know how just hearing his name makes my heart race.
A soft, tearful smirk finally broke across Riya's face through her unshed tears. The confusion, the denial, and the playful bickering of the past months suddenly cleared away, leaving behind one absolute, beautiful truth.
She was in love with him.

A moment later, Raghav's phone buzzed in his pocket. Checking the screen, he frowned at the weak reception inside the corridor.

"I need to take this call, it's from the office. There's no network here, I'll be just outside the lobby," he said to Yash and Riya before quickly stepping away.

Left alone with Yash, Riya felt her pulse racing, the realization of her love still fresh and overwhelming. But before she could say a word, a loud gasp echoed from the nearby triage corner.

A nurse had accidentally tripped over a medical trolley, knocking a tray of surgical instruments to the ground. Right beside it, a frightened little girl had stumbled and was falling forward, directly toward a sharp, upturned scalpel blade gleamng on the floor.

Moving with lightning-fast instincts, Yash didn't hesitate for a single second. He lunged forward, sliding his arm over the tiled floor to shield the child. He managed to catch the little girl safely in his arms, but the sharp metal edge sliced deep into the palm of his hand.

The child was unhurt, but Yash winced, his fingers instantly curling as crimson blood began to pool rapidly in his palm, dripping onto the pristine white floor.

"Yash!" Riya screamed, her heart dropping to her stomach.

Losing all her usual restraint, she came running toward him, her face pale with panic. She instinctively grabbed his wrist, lifting his hand to inspect the deep gash.

"Oh my god! Itna khoon nikal raha hai!" (So much blood is coming out!) her voice trembled, raw with a terrifying fear of seeing him hurt.

Yash tried to pull his hand back gently, offering her a reassuring, albeit slightly strained, smile.

"Hey, look at me. Kuch nahi hua hai. (Nothing has happened.) It's just a small scratch, really. I can manage it on my own."

Riya looked up from his bleeding palm, her eyes fierce, shining with unshed tears and a sudden, fierce protectiveness.

"You can manage," she whispered, her grip tightening firmly around his wrist so he couldn't pull away, "but I want to. Let me take care of you."

The absolute command in her voice silenced him completely.

Without waiting for his reply, Riya quickly turned to a nearby nurse who was rushing over.

"Please give me the first aid kit," Riya requested urgently. Taking the medical box, she guided Yash to a nearby bench, forcing him to sit.

For the next few minutes, a completely new side of Riya unfolded before Yash's eyes. The loud, commanding, Class Representative completely vanished. In her place was someone incredibly tender, gentle, and focused.

She carefully cleaned the wound with an antiseptic wipe, her fingers brushing against his skin with utmost care, as if she were handling something fragile and precious.

She applied the ointment and began wrapping the white sterile bandage around his palm with neat, practiced precision. Her brows were furrowed in deep concentration, her breathing shallow, completely absorbed in healing his pain.

Yash didn't utter a single word. He just sat there, his dark eyes fixed entirely on her face. He watched the gentle curve of her features, the quiet worry etched on her forehead, and the soft, caring touch of her hands. It was a side of Riya he had never experienced before-a deep, nurturing warmth that sent a strange, quiet tremor straight to his own heart.
